The initial poetry by Petra Kolmančič is the search for a way out of human mediocrity and the predictability of senses in the essence of loneliness and in the despair of closeness.
Petra Kolmančič’s poetry is committed to ‘self’ and the pureness of one’s own path. Even when she surrenders to the other, when she enters a world that she otherwise tries to avoid, she defines longing in verses that meticulously illustrate strangeness and emptiness itself. The book received a Slovenian award for poetry collections in 2014, known as the Veronika Award.
