The first essay, “Jews in Sarajevo and Bosnia,” explores the 500th anniversary of Jews’ exodus from Spain and their presence in Bosnia and Herzegovina. “Sarajevo in the Past and Present” covers the city’s history, including Turkish, Austro-Hungarian, South Slavic, and the 1990s conflicts. “Faces, Shapes, and Countrysides” reflects on wartime photography. Finally, “Radovan Karadžić – writer and/or criminal”analyzes the transformation of Radovan Karadžić from a psychiatrist and poet into a political leader with extreme nationalist principles who played a significant role in the devastating Bosnian war.
