Adventures of the Forest Village animals
Tony, the little beaver from Forest Village, loves nothing more than sipping evening tea on the veranda of his lakeside cottage with his best friend, Goldie the blackbird. As the day winds down, they reflect on everything that has happened to the residents of Forest Village and how lucky they are to have each other.
In spring, Mikey the bear falls ill. Everyone bombards him with advice, but all he really wants to do is go fishing—his favourite thing in the world. Grandma Bunny has hurt her paw, her house is falling apart, and she’s arguing with her daughter, who wants her to move in. But, pssst, her memory isn’t what it used to be… In autumn, the birds of Forest Village are plagued by cunning new fleas, and Dr Owl faces sleepless nights filled with worry. The following winter, Bobby the dormouse feels sad—his father spends too much time at Mr Fox’s house and always comes back acting strangely… But the forest friends have a magical Christmas Eve ahead of them, brought to life through togetherness, warmth, and kindness.
In the beautifully illustrated animals by Polona Kosec, we recognise human emotions and struggles—their troubles mirror our own. Perhaps, through their experiences, we might even find answers for ourselves.
